Cheers to Independence Day! This weekend in Northeast Georgia, you can celebrate the 249th birthday of our nation at the following locations:

Friday, July 4

Where: Gainesville’s Laurel ParkWhat: Splash pad, kids’ activities, food trucks, music, and fireworks at sunset (around 9:15 PM)

Where: Blue Ridge City Park downtownWhat: Lake Blue Ridge fireworks at around 9:30 PM and a historic parade at 10 AM

Where: Demorest City Hall (fireworks), Demorest Springs Park (music), and Downtown Demorest (festival)What: parade at 11 a.m., food and craft vendors, children’s area, live music by Tad Boemer and Troubadour Project, and fireworks at around 9:45 p.m.

Where: UNG Drill Field & Dahlonega SquareWhat: Car show, procession, Declaration reading, live music, fireworks at twilight, Firecracker 5K at 8 AM

Where: Elberton’s Bobby Brown ParkWhat: All-day Hillbilly Hootenanny featuring food and music, with fireworks organized through a church event

Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds is the location.Commencing at 3 PM, the Nathan Morgan Band will perform from 6 to 9 PM, followed by a boat procession and a fireworks display over Lake Chatuge at 9:45 PM.

Where: Braselton Town Green in the downtown areaWhat: Live music, a vendor fair, a parade, and fireworks at night

Where: Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, near US 441, and Dillard HouseWhat: 9:30 PM fireworks can be seen at the side of the road.

Where: Recreation Department of Banks CountyWhat: Fireworks, food, and a family get-together

Where: Blairsville’s Meeks ParkWhat: Kickball, cornhole, bounce houses, snack trucks, and picturesque fireworks

Saturday, July 5

Where: Sky Valley DowntownWhat: Kids’ activities, barbecue, fireworks, a parade, a hot dog cafe, and a rubber duck race

Where: Franklin Square in downtownWhat: Food, dance performances, a patriotic show, fireworks, and live music (a 7:30 PM DJ and a 7:30 PM Righteous Revolver).

Where: Tiger, Georgia’s Tiger Drive-InWhen gates open at 6:30 p.m., there will be a fireworks display before Jurassic World: Rebirth (entry fee).

Where: Cleveland’s Freedom ParkWhat: Fireworks after dark, followed by food and music vendors starting at 7 PM

Where: Billy Goat Island’s southern tipWhat: Boat parade and lakeside fireworks (which may be seen from LaPrade’s Marina as well as from the water)

Sunday, July 6

Where: Magness Cove by Billy Goat Island is where it starts and finishes.What: a ski show from Magness Cove to Moccassin Creek across Lake Burton
