The North Carolina town of ThomasvilleA Thomasville boutique employee is charged with stealing jewelry valued at thousands of dollars and reselling it on the well-known online marketplace Depop.
On August 7, following a suspected employee theft, the owner of Sweet Savannah Boutique on South NC Highway 109 notified the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office. When the owner discovered several items of jewelry were gone, she reported the theft to the police.
The entire value of the stolen goods, according to deputies, was about $3,000.
Boutique Employee Identified as Suspect
Detectives launched an investigation and determined that the main suspect was Jayden Beasley, a boutique employee. According to the authorities, Beasley not only stole the items from her place of employment but also listed them for sale on the well-known app Depop, which sells worn clothing and accessories.
According to reports, authorities’ additional investigation revealed that Beasley had also taken goods from other nearby retail establishments. On her Depop account, these more products were also discovered to be for sale.
Arrest and Charges Filed
On August 16, Beasley was taken into custody and charged with two crimes:

Later, she was freed with a signed commitment to show up for court. On September 4, she will appear in court for the first time.
