North Carolina’s Bertie County.On Saturday, a simple traffic check in North Carolina resulted in a multi-agency arrest of a South Carolina fugitive wanted on major felony charges.
Authorities say that about midday, a trooper with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol pulled over 27-year-old Troyn Britt for speeding at 73 mph in a 55 mph zone. The trooper found out during the traffic check that Britt was wanted in South Carolina on counts of criminal conspiracy, first-degree burglary, and attempted murder.
Coordinated Arrest Between Agencies
The Highway Patrol called deputies from the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office for backup after receiving the warrant information. Britt, who is from Rich Square, North Carolina, was swiftly apprehended by the authorities.
Britt is currently awaiting extradition to South Carolina to face the outstanding accusations after being arrested without posting bail and taken to the Bertie/Martin Regional Prison.
