Atlanta, Georgia.Early on Wednesday morning, a serious collision on GA-400 northbound close to the North Springs MARTA Station wounded multiple individuals and caused significant delays for commuters.
Chain-Reaction Crash
The crash happened north of the Abernathy Road/Dunwoody Road exit shortly after six in the morning, according to Sandy Springs police. Six to seven automobiles were involved in the collision, which the officers described as a chain reaction.
At least two or three individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for medical care. One person suffered a broken leg.
Traffic Impact
At first, the collision blocked all GA-400 northbound lanes. Police reopened three lanes by 7:30 a.m., but morning commuters had to avoid the incident site due to miles-long traffic jams.
Hours later, as authorities cleared the road, one of the cars was still there.
Ongoing Investigation
The cause of the chain-reaction crash has not been disclosed by the police. In addition to evaluating the situation, investigators are still interviewing witnesses and drivers.
To prevent such catastrophes, local authorities are warning drivers to exercise caution and stay vigilant during rush hour.
