Overturned Moving Truck Shuts Down US 321 in Lincoln County, Causing Major Traffic Delays

Lincoln, North Carolina.On Thursday afternoon, a moving truck flipped on U.S. 321 in Lincoln County, resulting in heavy traffic jams and the complete shutdown of the southbound lanes for about two hours.


Truck overturned near Mile Marker 20 on US 321 South

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol reports that the collision happened close to Mile Marker 20 at approximately 2:30 p.m. Drivers were forced to stop while emergency personnel responded to the overturned vehicle, which forced the closure of US 321 South between Exit 24 (NC 150) and Exit 20 (Gastonia Highway).

After the vehicle was upright and off the road, the highway was reopened at approximately 4:15 p.m. By 3:30 p.m., officials verified that the car was back on its wheels.
