Tennessee’s Mount Juliet.A temporary shelter-in-place order was issued for local neighbors following a fatal shooting in Mount Juliet on Sunday night as police secured the area and launched their investigation.
Shelter-in-Place Alert Issued
According to the Mount Juliet Police Department (MJPD), the event took place in the Parrish Place 700 block. The agency advised residents to stay indoors until the area was deemed safe in a post on X (previously Twitter) shortly after 8 p.m.
Officers informed the public fifteen minutes later that there was no larger threat to the neighborhood and that the incident was limited to one home.
One Person Dead
Police stated the investigation involved a self-inflicted injury that led to the person’s death by approximately 10 p.m.There were no other recorded injuries.
“We are thinking of the person’s family, friends, and everyone affected,” MJPD said in a formal statement.
Investigation Continues
The deceased’s identity has not yet been made public by the police, nor have they provided any other information regarding the circumstances behind the incident. The inquiry is still under progress.
