Tuesday night, a fire broke out in the toilet of a Cleveland family’s home on Bonnie Pearl Lane, but they and their pets managed to leave without incident.
On August 19, the fire was reported at approximately 8 p.m. According to White County Fire Service spokeswoman Bryce Barrett, the residents contacted 911 as smoke and flames were spreading inside, but they were able to escape before assistance could reach.The incident on Bonnie Pearl Lane was attended to by numerous emergency officials, including firefighters. Firefighters discovered minor smoke coming from the single-family home when they got there. According to Barrett, three crew members entered the building and promptly extinguished the fire, preventing it from extending outside the restroom.
Medical personnel examined one person on the spot, but they did not require hospitalization. Just after 9 p.m., firefighters cleared the scene after remaining on the scene to ensure there were no hot spots.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
