Conway Man Arrested on 78 Charges After 39 Hounds Found in Neglect Case

According to authorities, Herbert Dozier was arrested on 78 offenses, including 39 felonies related to animal abuse. Following a tip to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Horry County Police located a home on Merritt Drive and made the arrest.

Dozens of Hounds Removed from Property

Officers found a number of dogs chained to trees or housed in inappropriate kennels when they got to the premises. 39 hounds in all were taken out and taken to the Horry County Animal Care Center for assessment and care.
