Rocky Mount Man with Revoked License Arrested After Deadly Moped Crash

Rocky Mountain, North Carolina.A moped driver was killed in a mishap earlier this month just outside of downtown Rocky Mount, and a 33-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

Nearly two weeks after the August 8 crash that killed 54-year-old Jessie Junior Williams, police said Cody Shane Bundy was arrested on August 19.

Crash Details

According to court records, Bundy tried to turn left while traveling down South Church Street, around three miles from Rocky Mount’s downtown. According to investigators, he struck Williams’ moped after failing to surrender the right of way.

According to the warrant, Bundy’s refusal to yield was the crash’s primary cause of death.

Charges Filed

Bundy is charged with a number of offenses, including reportedly driving a car with a suspended license.

Police explained that his license had been canceled for various reasons rather than impairment.

Bond and Location

In connection with the charges, Bundy was jailed and given a $5,000 bail. About an hour east of Raleigh is the crash site, which is close to I-95.
