Charlotte, North Carolina.A homicide investigation is underway near Uptown after a stabbing on a Charlotte LYNX light rail train late Friday night left one person dead and two others injured.
The incident happened near the station at Camden Road, near the intersection of West Boulevard and East Boulevard, at approximately 10:30 p.m., according to the authorities.
One Dead, Two Others Injured
The deceased person was declared dead at the site, according to the medic. Two more victims received treatment; one had minor wounds, while the other had life-threatening injuries.
Detectives have assumed responsibility for the investigation, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. The train stayed at the station while police investigated the incident, according to the officers.
Person of Interest in Custody
Shortly after the stabbing, police claimed that a person of interest was taken into custody. The identity of the deceased victim and the suspect has not been made public.
