AUSTELL, Ga.Following a major collision along Austell Powder Springs Road late Thursday, a Cobb County man was taken to the hospital.
The driver was identified by the authorities as Austell resident Michael Dunagan, 33, who was operating a cream-colored 2006 Chevrolet Silverado at the time of the collision, which happened at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Truck Veered Off Road
Cobb County Police say they are still looking into why Dunagan’s truck swerved out of its lane. The car went over an elevated curb, crashed into a tree, and passed into a parking lot at 4641 Austell Powder Springs Road.
The truck became stuck against the tree and then came to a stop due to the impact.
Driver Taken to Hospital
Dunagan was taken by emergency personnel to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where his condition was reported as critical. His present condition has not been updated by the police.
Investigation Ongoing
The cause of the vehicle’s departure off the road is still being looked into by authorities. Whether speed, impairment, or another element played a role in the collision is yet unknown.
