In Cove City, deputies from the Craven County Sheriff’s Office were summoned to investigate a suspicious car. Two youngsters, aged four and seven, who had been reported missing from Carteret County the day before were discovered inside.According to Public Radio East, investigators claimed that the kids had gone without meals for what they called an excessive amount of time while they were missing.

Victoria Wells of Anderson, South Carolina, the mother of the children, is currently facing two charges of child abuse.
