Hurston Waldrep throws 6 scoreless innings in combined 2-hitter, Braves blank Guardians 2-0

CLEVELAND (AP) The Atlanta Braves defeated the Cleveland Guardians 2-0 on Friday night thanks to two-hitter Hurston Waldrep’s six scoreless innings and runs scored by Michael Harris II and Nacho Alvarez Jr.

Waldrep (3-0) had his longest outing of the season, giving up two hits, both to Steven Kwan. Daysbel Hernandez and Tyler Kinley followed the right-hander, who walked two and struck out a career-high seven.
