SC’s Orangeburg County.Authorities announced that a South Carolina state trooper who was hit by a car early on Sunday morning on Interstate 26 is recuperating from potentially fatal injuries.
According to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department (LCSD), the collision occurred close to mile marker 166 at around two in the morning. Captain Adam Myrick stated that the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Officer asked LCSD to conduct the investigation.
Driver Arrested at Scene
Anthony Aydlette, 45, of Hanhanin, was taken into custody by deputies in relation to the collision. According to officials, he is being held at the Orangeburg County Detention Center on charges of driving while his license is suspended.
The trooper’s name has not been made public, but authorities say he is still in the hospital.
