GeorgiaThe Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is starting to close lanes on major interstates this week as part of the continuing 16@95 Improvement Projects, so drivers in the state are being advised to plan for possible delays.
In addition to rebuilding the I-16/I-95 interchange and enlarging I-16, the project will also involve bridge construction at the I-16/I-516 interchange. Both local commuters and long-distance drivers are anticipated to be impacted by the lane limits during the day and at night.

I-95 Southbound:

Drivers Urged to Use Caution
The DOT cautions that weather-related delays may occur and that work zones may see sporadic traffic queuing, ramp closures, and extra lane limits without warning. Drivers are encouraged to:
- Reduce speed through work zones
- Remain alert for workers and equipment
- Expect delays and plan alternate routes
Drivers can utilize the Georgia 511 mobile app, visit 511ga.org, or call 511 for real-time traffic updates.
