After being rescued from a submerged car in Dundee Lake on Sunday in what Georgia State Patrol investigators claim was a DUI-related collision, a three-year-old child is currently recuperating in the hospital in Spalding County, Georgia.

Crash Leads to Near-Tragedy

The Acura driver reportedly entered the lake’s parking lot at a fast pace while traveling west on Dundee Lake Road, according to the authorities. The vehicle then crashed into Dundee Lake after slamming over big boulders that were being utilized as traffic barriers and then vaulting into a grassy area.

Officials claim that when the car started to sink, the driver got out and stood atop it, trapping the youngster inside and completely submerging it in water.

First Responders Save Child

Adeputy and a firefighter hurried to the scene and jumped right in to save the toddler. Until the child’s pulse returned, they carried out life-saving procedures. After that, the toddler was flown to a hospital for more care.It is unknown how the child is doing right now.
