Southern Carolina’s Spartanburg CountyThe South Carolina Highway Patrol reports that a three-vehicle collision in Spartanburg County on Friday morning left one person dead and five others, including a toddler, injured.
Crash Occurred During Morning Traffic on Brannon Circle
According to authorities, a 2003 Chevrolet SUV stopped eastbound on Brinson Circle at approximately 7:45 a.m. and attempted to turn north onto SC Highway 9. A 2006 Jeep SUV that was heading south on SC 9 collided with it during the maneuver.
A 2008 Honda Coupe and the Chevrolet collided as a result of the hit, resulting in a chain-reaction collision that injured numerous persons.
Six People Taken to Hospital, One Confirmed Dead
According to authorities, the driver of the Jeep, two passengers in the Honda, and the three people inside the Chevrolet were all sent to a nearby hospital for medical attention. A toddler who had been riding in the Honda was among the injured.
Sadly, one of the Chevrolet’s passengers was later declared deceased. The identify of the deceased has not yet been made public by the coroner as of Saturday afternoon.
Investigation Still Active, More Details Expected
SCHP troopers are still looking into the collision and have not yet said if they would press charges. The cause of the incident is still being investigated, and as more details become available, more updates are anticipated.
